Richard was born on June 1st, 1761 in Deep River, Guilford, NC. Richard's father was Richard Mendenhall and his mother was Jane Thornburgh. His paternal grandparents were Mordecai I. Mendenhall and Charity Beeson. He had a brother named John. He was the younger of the two children. He died in Westfield, IN.General Notes
