John was born on March 6th, 1759. John's father was Richard Mendenhall and his mother was Jane Thornburgh. His paternal grandparents were Mordecai I. Mendenhall and Charity Beeson. He had a brother named Richard. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 76 on June 3rd, 1835 in Caesar's Creek, Clinton Co., OH.General Notes
