Eudokia was born on January 14th, 1094 in Constantinople, Turkey.  Eudokia's father was Alexios+ Komnenos and her mother was Eirene+ Dukaina.  Her paternal grandfather was Ioannes Kouropalates+ Komnenos and her paternal grandmother is Anna+ Dalassena; her maternal grandparents were Andronikos+ Doukas and Maria Of+ Bulgaria. She had two brothers and a sister, named Ioannes II+, Isaakios and Theodora+.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
