Catherine was born about 1610. Catherine's father was Richard Houghton and her mother was Catherine Gerard. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Houghton and Anne Keighley; her maternal grandfather was Gilbert Gerard and her maternal grandmother is Anne Radcliffe. She had a brother named Gilbert.
