William's father was James Hay and his mother was Margaret Kerr. His paternal grandfather was William Hay and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Kerr; his maternal grandparents were Mark Kerr and Margaret Maxwell. He had a sister named Margaret. He died before April 18th, 1648.General Notes
