John was born about 1512. John's father was William Gordon and his mother is Janet Ogilvy. His paternal grandfather was George+ Gordon and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth+ Hay; his maternal grandfather was Walter+ Ogilvy and his maternal grandmother is Margaret+ Edmonstone. He had a brother named George. He was the younger of the two children. He died about 1594.General Notes
