James II+ was born about 1378 in Hermiston, Scotland. James II+'s father was Archibald+ Douglas and his mother was Jean+ Moray. His paternal grandfather was James I+ Douglas and his paternal grandmother is Nm+ X; his maternal grandfather was Malise+ Strathearn and his maternal grandmother is Joanna+ Menteith. He had a brother and a sister, named Archibald+ and Eleanor. He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-brother named William+. He died on March 24th, 1444.General Notes
