William Hayden English 
William Hayden was born on August 27th, 1822 in Lexington, Scott Co., IN. William Hayden's father was Elisha Gale English and his mother was Mahalia Eastin. His paternal grandparents were Elisha English and Sarah Wharton; his maternal grandparents were Philip Eastin and Sarah Ann Hite Smith. He was an only child. He died at the age of 73 on February 7th, 1896 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN.General Notes
William Hayden English was a democratic member (and Speaker) of the Indiana state house of representatives (1851-52), US Rep. from Indiana, 2nd District (1863-61.
