E-mail correspondence 11/05/05: " My fourth great grandmother was Rebecca Hite, daughter of Col. John Hite as he is historically known.  Rebecca's great grandfather was Johannes, and her grandfather was Jost Hite which was the first settler into the Shendoaha Valley.  Rebecca has an interesting genealogy as she goes back to Louis DuBois, through the Eltinges,and Van Meter families.  I have the whole of all these families as they are my line also.  regards to a distant cousin, Dale   dale4golf@@tampabay.rr.com
