David Deshler 
David was born in 1733 in Switzerland. David's father was Adam Sr. Deshler and his mother is Appolonia Mulholland. His paternal grandfather was David Deshler and his paternal grandmother is Marie Wister. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Peter, John Adam, Eva Catharine, Juliana Elizabeth, Barbara and Catherine. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 63 on December 24th, 1796 in Bierye Bridge, PA.General Notes
David advanced monies from his private funds to the US Government and to the State of Pennsylvania when they were bankrupt. He was one of the four guns of the company reported to Col. Burd, 1763. David was a member of the Provincial Conference of Committees held at Carpenter`s Hall, Philadelphia, from June 18th to 25th, 1776, and on March 21, 1777, was appointed Sub Lieutenant for Northampton county. On June 3, 1777, he was appointed a Justice of the Peace and on Feb. 19, 1778, A Commissioner of Purchases for Northampton county. <a href=http://www.nps.gov/inde/deshler-morris-house.html>David`s Summer Home</a> served as the headquarters for British General Sir William Howe during the Battle of Germantown in October, 1777. It also served as the official residence of President George Washington during the yellow fever epidemic of 1793. According to "Pennsylvania Swiss and German Pioneer Settlers--Annal of the Pioneer Swiss Palatine Mennonites of Lancaster 1732-1742 A.D., 1739-Lancaster County Ancestors Naturalized", Pg 268-269 shows Michael Dotterer (wife Muldenberger) on the list along with David Deshler (son of Adam Deshler).
