Richard was born about 1690 in New Castle DE. Richard's father was John Cox and his mother was Rachel Embree Carr. His paternal grandparents were Thomas+ Cox and Christian+ Matthews. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Joseph, Thomas, John Jr., Ann, Sarah and Amy+. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died in Chester Co., PA ~1762.General Notes
