Anne was born on February 27th, 1683 in Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. Anne's father was John Churchill and her mother was Sarah Jennings. Her paternal grandfather was Winston Churchill and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Drake; her maternal grandparents are Richard Jennings and Frances Thornhurst. She had a brother and three sisters, named John, Henrietta, Elizabeth and Mary. She was the second youngest of the five children. She had a half-sister named Barbara Fitzroy.
