Sir Hugh de Montfort-sur-Risle IV 
Hugh was born in Folkingham, Warwickshire, England. Hugh's father was Lord Gilbert de Gaunt of Flanders and his mother is Alice de Mountfort. His paternal grandparents were Seigneur Ralph de Gand I and Gisele de Luxembourg; his maternal grandfather was Count Hugh de Mountfort II and his maternal grandmother is Alice de Beaufoe. He had a brother named Walter. He died after 1123.General Notes
Note: Hugh de Montfort, who, on account of his mother being so great an heiress, assumed the name of Montfort, inherited all the possessions of his grandfather and was called Hugh the fourth. This Hugh, having m. Adeline, dau. of Robert, Earl of Mellent, joined with Waleran, her brother, and all those who endeavoured to advance William, son of Robert Curthose, against King Henry I in 1124, and entering Normandy for that purpose, he was made prisoner, with the said Waleran, and confined for the fourteen years ensuing. The time of his death is not ascertained but he left issue, Robert; Thurstan; Adeline, m. to William de Britolio; Ada, m. to Richard, son of the Earl of Gloucester.
