Gundwald was born in 0555 in Bavaria, Germany. Gundwald's father was King Garibaldi Agilulfus von Bavaria I of the Bavarians and his mother is Princess Waldrada of the Lombards. His paternal grandfather was Duke Theodebert of Lower Bavaria and his paternal grandmother is Wisigarde de Lombardie; his maternal grandfather was King Wacho of the Lombards and his maternal grandmother is Princess Ostrogotha of Gepidae. He had three sisters named Theudelinde, Romilde and Gertrude. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Gundoald, Théudelinde and Blitildes. He died at the age of 57 in 0612.-
