Magnus, known as "the Good", was born about 1024 in Norway.  "the Good"'s father was King Olav Haraldsson of Norway and his mother is Estrid Olafsdatter.  His paternal grandfather was Harald ("the Greenlander") Gudrodsson and his paternal grandmother is Asted of Upplands; his maternal grandfather was King Olaf ("Skotkonung") Eriksson III of Sweden and his maternal grandmother is Princess Astrid of the Obotrites. He had a sister named Ulfild.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died on October 25th, 1047.
