Donald, known as "Bane", "the White", was born about 1033 in Atholl, Pertshire, Scotland.  "Bane", "the White"'s father was King Duncan ("the Gracious") I of Scotland or Strathclyde.  His paternal grandfather was Lord Crinan ('Grimus') de Isles and his paternal grandmother is Princess Bethoc mac Máel Coluim of Scotland. He had two brothers named Dunegal and "Ceanmor", "Longneck", "Bighead".  He died in 1099 in Rescobie, Angusshire, Scotland.  He was buried in Dunkeld Abbey.
