Hadwig was born in 0910 in Saxony, Germany.  Hadwig's father was Henry I "the Fowler" Holy Roman Emperor and her mother was Matilda von Ringelheim.  Her paternal grandparents were Otto "the Illustrious" von Sachsen Duke of Saxony and Hedwige of Germany; her maternal grandfather was Theudebert von Sachsen Duke of Saxony and her maternal grandmother is Ludmilla Ragnhildis von Friesland. She had three brothers and a sister, named Otto I "the Great", Henry I "the Quarrelsome", Bruno "the Great" and Gerberge of Saxony.  She was the oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother named Thankmar.  She died at the age of 55 on March 10th, 0965 in Aix-la-Chapelle (Aachen).


Hadwig's family with Hugues "Magnus" de Neustria Count of Paris

‌Hadwig and Hugues "Magnus" de Neustria were married in a religious ceremony on September 14th, 0938.  They had four sons and two daughters, named Hugh Capet, Otto Eudes, Otto-Henri "the Great", Herbert of Auxerre, Beatrix and Emma.
