Adelaide [Alix] Countess was born in 0950 in Vermandois, Normandy, France.1 Adelaide [Alix] Countess' father was Ct. Herbert II Count of Troyes & Vermandois and her mother was Princess Princess Of France Hildebrante. Her paternal grandparents were I Count of Vermandois Herbert and Beatrice De Morvois Princess of France; her maternal grandparents were King Robert I King of France and Aelis Adele Princess of France. She had five brothers and a sister, named Robert I Count of Meaux &, Hugh of Vermandois Archbishop, The Pious, Herbert III Count , Count of Meau, Renaud I Seigneur de and Luitgarde (Ledgard) de. She was the youngest of the seven children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named "The Cheat" Count of Blois and Gerlotte of. She died at the age of 32 in 0982 in Brugge,West Flanders,Belgium. She was buried in 0960 in St Pierre Abby, Gand.2 1 General Notes
