Albert I "The Pious" Count of, known as The Pious, was born about 0920 in Vermandois, Normandy, France.1 The Pious' father was Ct. Herbert II Count of Troyes & Vermandois and his mother was Princess Princess Of France Hildebrante. His paternal grandparents were I Count of Vermandois Herbert and Beatrice De Morvois Princess of France; his maternal grandparents were King Robert I King of France and Aelis Adele Princess of France. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Robert I Count of Meaux &, Hugh of Vermandois Archbishop, Herbert III Count , Count of Meau, Renaud I Seigneur de, Luitgarde (Ledgard) de and Adelaide [Alix] Countess. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named "The Cheat" Count of Blois and Gerlotte of. He died on September 8th, 0987 in St. Quentin,Aisne,Picardy,France. He was buried in September 0987 in St Quentin, France.2 3 General Notes
