His paternal grandfather was Ranulf de Bayeux Vicomte Bayeux and his paternal grandmother is Alix of Normandy; his maternal grandparents were Richard "Le Goz" Vicomte D'Avranches and Lady Emma de Conteville. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Ranulph III de, William de, William, Geoffrey de, Lord William, Ranulph Bayeux, Matilda Le, Agnes of and Helga. He is the fourth youngest of the ten children. He had two half-brothers named Robert I Fitzharold de and John De.General Notes
