St. Itta was born in Metz (Moselle River Valley), France.1 St. Itta's father was Bishop of Metz St. Arnulph and her mother was , Duchess of Metz Clothide. Her paternal grandparents were II Bodegeisel and Oda of Savoy; her maternal grandparents were Bishop of Metz Arnoaldus and Oda of Savoy. She had four brothers named Bishop of Metz, Walchigise, Count of Verdon, Saint Clodulphe of and Mayor of Austrasia. She died in 0652 in Landau, Bavaria.2 General Notes
