Capt. Cornelius Howard 
Capt. Cornelius was born in 1629 in Lower Norfolk, Virginia. Capt. Cornelius' father was Matthew Howard Immigrant and his mother was Anne Hall. His paternal grandfather was John Howard and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Lock; his maternal grandfather was Richard Hall. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Henry, John, Matthew, Philip, Anne, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 51 on April 15th, 1680 in Anne Arundel, Maryland.General Notes

Cornelius Howard was one of Matthew Howard's five sons. He was named after a colonel of the militia and Justice of the Peace, Cornelius Lloyd, a Welshman by birth and a relative of the family.
Cornelius Hoard came to Anne Arundel Co., Maryland in the 1650's. He was a boatwright and a planter, and from 1671 to 1675, he served as Anne Arundel County's representative to the Maryland Legislative Assembly.
