A Mary Hitt, daughter of Peter Hitt and Elizabeth James, is thought to be the wife of Jacob, a grandson of Hans Jacob Rector through his son Henry. Is she confused with the Mary Hitt, daughter of Peter Hitt and Elizabeth Utterback, who married Jacob Rector, the son of Hans Jacob?
There is also some confusion over whether she was married to Jacob or Harmon, ...or Jacob and Harmon? Are theretwo women named Mary daughter of a Peter Hitt? She also seems confused with Harmon, grandson of Hans Jacob through son Harmon.
‌Mary and Jacob were married in a religious ceremony in 1748. They had four sons and a daughter, named Peter, James, Jesse, Bennett and Elizabeth "Betty".
