John Newton Underwood 
John Newton was born in 1824.1 John Newton's father was Aaron Underwood and his mother was Sarah Iona Williams. His paternal grandparents were Joseph D. Underwood and Winifred Henderson. He had a brother and two sisters, named George Washington, Salita Caroline and Sirena Melissa. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 82 in 1906.1 General Notes
