J. Rufus Thomas 
J. Rufus was born on September 21st, 1877.1 J. Rufus' father was Archibald Curry Thomas and his mother was Mary Ann Demarious Keahey. His maternal grandparents were George Jackson Keahey and Margaret Keahey. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Samuel Asa, George G., John C., William Stanton, Margaret Ozella, Adorah Jane, Isabella Zipporah, Ellah Cornelia and Irene Le Jane.
