Archie Elmer was born on January 27th, 1908.1 Archie Elmer's father was James Thomas Sprowls and his mother was Sarah Mattie Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Jesse Fielding Sprowls and Mary Jane Shofner. He had three brothers named Willie E., Claude Garland and Junior Arnold. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 49 on December 7th, 1957 in Taylor Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Zion Baptist Church, Maple Taylor Co., Kentucky.1 1 General Notes
