Kizzy was born on May 13th, 1861 in Perry Co., Kentucky.1 Kizzy's father was Elias Smith and her mother was Elizabeth Ritchie. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Grigsby Ritchie and Kissiah Smith. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Joshua, Leatha Ann, Dulcenia, Serena and Rachel. She died at the age of 87 on May 9th, 1949.1 General Notes
