Edward Smalley

Edward was born in 1652 in Falmouth , Cumberland,  Maine.¹   Edward's father was Francis Smalley and his mother was Elizabeth Leighton.  His paternal grandfather was Edward Smalley and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Shurt\Shirt; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Leighton and his maternal grandmother is Joanna Unknown. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Francis Jr., Samuel, Benjamin, Daniel, Mary, Alice and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 50 on April 30th, 1702 in Harwich , Massachusetts.¹ 

‌Edward and Mary were married in a religious ceremony in August 1685 in Dover, Strafford , New Hampshire.¹   They had eight sons and a daughter, named Jonathan, Joseph, Zachariah, Benjamin, Daniel, Edward, Francis, Samuel and Elizabeth.
