Living's father was William Melvin Preston and his mother was Helen Nancy Millikan. His paternal grandparents were Pendelton Douglas 'PD' Preston and Sara Goodwin. He had a brother and four sisters, named Living, Judith Evelyn, Living, Living and Living.-
