Gerald Booker's father is Ernest Booker Preston and his mother is Ida Maude Rodgers. His paternal grandfather was Patrick Henry Preston and his paternal grandmother is Ophelia Ellen Roberts. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Basil Roberts, Benjamin Ernest, Edwin Hughes, Homer Sory, Marvin Westley, Roy Wilson Jackson, Bertha Marie, Jessie Irene and Nannie May.
