Abner Ponder 
Abner was born in 1849.1 Abner's father was John W. Ponder and his mother was Winney Norwood. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Porter Norwood and Elizabeth Underwood. He had two brothers and a sister, named Andrew Jackson, Lafayette and Opal. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had five half-brothers named William Coke, Reuben Franklin, Benjamin Telfair, Samuel Joshua and Joseph Solomon. He died at the age of 63 in 1912.1 General Notes
