Benjamin Porter was born on August 2nd, 1801.1 Benjamin Porter's father was William Paxton and his mother was Jane Grigsby. His maternal grandparents were John,3rd Grigsby and Elizabeth Porter. He had five brothers and ten sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, John, Samuel, William,Jr., Betsey, Mary D., Martha Patsy, Phoebe, Rachel, Sallie, Frances Jane, Agnes Ann, Hannah E. and Verlinda.
