Joseph W. Means 
Joseph W. was born in 1839 in Clinton Co., Kentucky.1 Joseph W.'s father was Azel Means and his mother was Susan Wright. His paternal grandfather was Benjamine Means and his paternal grandmother is Ellenda Bickerdite. He had six brothers and eight sisters, named Ahijans, Benjamin Jackson, Richard Smith, George Adrine, Allen Wallace, Caleb Sewell, Melinda, Sarah, Elizabeth, Catherine, Lydia, Twin Daughters, Eleanor and Daughter 3. He was the eighth oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 25 in January 1864 in Belle Island, Virginia.1 General Notes
