John Means 
John was born about 1723 in New Castle Co., Delaware.1 John's father is John Means and his mother is Unknown McCord. His paternal grandparents are John Means and Eleanor Unknown. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Hugh, Samuel, James, Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Martha and Ann. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died about 1798 in Washington Co., Pennsylvania.1 General Notes

John and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony about 1744.1 They had five sons and a daughter, named John, Jr., Andrew, Benjamin, Adam, Joseph and Eleanor.

Andrew was born in 1749 in Paxtang Township, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.1 He died at the age of 77 in July 1826 in Fishing River Township, Clay Co., Missouri.1
Adam Means
Adam was born in 1753 in Paxtang Twp., Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.1 He died at the age of 87 in 1840 in Paxtang Twp, (or Allegheny Co., ) Pennsylvania.1
