Annie Lois was born in 1922.1 Annie Lois' father was Hugh Means and her mother was Tallulah Belle Gillespie. Her paternal grandparents are John Stewart Means and Mary Elizabeth Langston. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Hubert Lowery, William Hoyt, Fredrick Stuart, Dwight M., Joe, John Henry, Robert Milton, Nellie Elizabeth, Janie Ruth and Ethel Belle.
