John Isbell was born on December 6th, 1830 in Princeton, Jackson Co., Alabama.1 John Isbell's father was Alva Anderson Lamb and his mother was Sarah Jane Graham. His maternal grandparents were John Graham and Mary Emmaline Pennington. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Josiah Sylvester, James K. Polk, Sarah Ann Emaline, Mary Ann, Maria Elizabeth, Jane, Malinda Lucinda, Nancy Vinetta and Harriet Clarica. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 96 on October 2nd, 1927 in Gatesville, Coryell Co., Texas.1 General Notes
