Laura Jane was born on July 28th, 1870 in Horry Co., South Carolina.1 Laura Jane's father was Alphia Alford Graham and her mother was Helen Alice Johnson. Her paternal grandfather was Joseph Graham and her paternal grandmother is Clare Unknown. She had nine brothers and three sisters, named Cornelius J., Lewis Thomas, Evander, Daniel, William, David Walker, Alva, Waterman, Covington, Helen Adaline, Florence and Melia A.. She was the second youngest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 86 on March 19th, 1957 in Horry Co., South Carolina. She was buried in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery, Nichols, Horry Co., South Carolina.1 1 General Notes
