He had six brothers and six sisters, named James A., Robert Thompson, Samuel, Reubin Calvin, Archibald Lafayette, Anthony M., Josephine Christina, Sarah Mary Y. T., Amarintha, Josephine, Lucinda Vashti and Agatha. He was the oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 65 on December 29th, 1892 in Robertson Co., Texas.
