Shadrack was born on March 13th, 1868 in Kentucky.1 Shadrack's father is Matthew Combs and his mother was Ann Ritchie. His maternal grandfather was John Ritchie and his maternal grandmother is Sylvania Sizemore. He had two brothers named George Washington and Henry B.. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 94 on March 6th, 1963 in Knott Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Combs Cemetery, Top of Sandlick Mountain, Kentucky.1 1 General Notes
