James Whitfield Burgamy 
James Whitfield was born on November 28th, 1843.1 James Whitfield's father was John Burgamy and his mother was Martha Davis Peurifoy. His paternal grandparents were William, Jr. Burgamy and Margaret Leggett; his maternal grandparents were William Peurifoy and Mary Brothers. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Tillaman Peurifoy, William Thomas, Eli, John C., Emory Gause, Matthew C., McCarroll, Archibald Filmore, Mary Frances, Martha Jane and Piercy Ann.General Notes
