Mahala Beard 
Mahala was born on November 25th, 1832 in Decatur Co., Indiana.1 Mahala's father was Edward Beard and her mother was Elizabeth Snider. Her maternal grandparents were Asa Barton Snider and Ann Uley. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Asa, Moses S., Evan L., John Wesley, Josephus Sepus, Edward Francis, Calvin S., William D., Mary Ellen and Martha Ellen. She died at the age of 61 on April 14th, 1894.1 General Notes
