Rufus H. Basham 
Rufus H. was born about 1861 in Virginia.1 Rufus H.'s father was Joseph A. Basham and his mother was Mary (Polly) A. Dillion. His paternal grandparents were John Basham and Catherine Ball; his maternal grandparents are Acquilla Green Dillon and Lucinda Spradlin. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Lewis Allen, William T., Martha Ann, Emma, Arthur D., Albert Jasper, Rebecca K. and Ellen T.. He was the third oldest of the nine children. ll livin g. Albert Jasper Basham was the father of Emmett, Everette and Ed
gar. Th at is where I made my mistake. I had the fathers of the two fir
st cousi ns to granny turned around. Mom said Rufus only had the 2 sons. S
he said s he thought Albert had more children but could not remember the
