Mitchell Garfield Basham 
Mitchell Garfield was born about 1906 in Virginia.1 Mitchell Garfield's father was James Samuel Basham and his mother was Annie O'Cundley. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Basham and Lucinda Preston. He had five brothers and three sisters, named James Clarence, Floyd Monroe, Charles W., Carey, Raymond S., Beulah E., Bessie Mae and Lora Dalton. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Benjamin H. and Sallie Lee. He died on January 9th, 1978 in Waynesboro, Augusta Co., Virginia.1 General Notes
