Laura E. was born on February 1st, 1873 in Greene Co., Illinois.1 Laura E.'s father was Benjamin U. Bassham and her mother was Louisa V. McBride. Her paternal grandparents were Meredith A. Bassham and Elizabeth Ann Fox. She had two brothers and a sister, named John H., Altha Ann and Eva May. She was the youngest of the four children. She died after 1915.1 General Notes
