Uriah Basham

Uriah was born in 1789 in Virginia.¹   Uriah's father was William Basham and his mother was Sarah Sally Shrewsbury.  His paternal grandparents were William Basham and Sarah (Agness) Angel; his maternal grandparents are Benjamin Shrewsbury and Nancy Richardson. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Cary, Barnett A., Lucy, Celia, Nancy, Rhoady, Peggy and Mary (Polly).  He was the third oldest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Obediah, Jonathan and Elizabeth.  He died before 1840.¹ 

‌Uriah and Rhoda were married in a religious ceremony on May 27th, 1804 in Franklin Co., Virginia.¹   They had a son and three daughters, named Meredith A., Mary, Miranda C. and Patty.
