Jewell Florence was born on July 3rd, 1907 in Arkansas.1 Jewell Florence's father was Wesley Oley (Twin) (Samp) Basham and her mother was Mecie Purtle Lockwood. Her paternal grandparents were Wesley Houston Basham and Harriet Anna Eliza (Ducky) Norris. She had two brothers named Claude Ollie and Wesley Herbert.
