Bermia (Burnie) was born about 1890 in Warren Co., Kentucky.1 Bermia (Burnie)'s father was James Harrod Basham and his mother was Elizabeth (Polly) Ann Phelps. His paternal grandparents were Benajah Anderson Basham and Nancy E. Turner. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John J., George Washington, Benaga, Mary Jane, Jeanette and Allie May. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died after 1922.1 General Notes
