FRANCIS H. was born on October 24th, 1680 in Brookhaven, Long Island, New York.1 FRANCIS H.'s father was JOHN Muncey and his mother was HANNAH Brewster. His paternal grandparents were Frances Muncy and HANNAH Adams; his maternal grandfather is NATHANIEL **Brewster. He had two brothers named Nathaniel and John. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 57 on October 16th, 1738 in near Willow Gove, Murderkill Hundred, Kent County, Delaware.1 General Notes

"Descendents of Francis Muncy I" which referenced
"Descendents of Thomas Skidmore" by Emily Hawley.
It's consistent with "The Muncy Family of Kent
County, DE" in MD & DC Geneal. Vol 19, No.2, Apr
1978. They give the following line:

Abigail Skidmore married Francis Muncy of Brookhaven by 1707. They were
living in adjoining Smithtown in 1717, but went before August 1732 to Kent
County, Delaware, where her two brothers had settled much earlier. They
settled there on a plantation called Great Neck, and Muncy had a warrant for
it on 4 May 1737. He died there in 1738 (before the survey was made) and
the tract, now renamed Muncy’s Mount, became a part of his estate. It was
located about one mile west of the present town of Willow Grove and was
owned in 1888 by Dr. John M. Wilkinson. Abigail was living his widow as late
as 27 June 1744 in Kent County. They had a large family of sons who went
mostly to southwest Virginia (where Skidmore was frequently a given name
among the Muncy descendants for several generations) and a daughter with
the distinctive name Belliharen.
Abigail's father, John Skidmore (born 11 April 1643 at Cambridge, Suffolk Co. MA)
was the son of Thomas Skidmore, the immigrant ancestor of this Skidmore
family line. John died at Queens County, Long Island, New Yorkl before
5 June 1680. We have considerable information on the origins of ths Skidmore
family line.

NATANIEL MUNCEY, son of FRANCIS MUNCEY 11, left for Rowan Cty, NC about 1769. He gave his son ,ELIJAH ,160 acres of land in a love and affection deed 10 June 1768. After the drought that DE suffered in the early 1800's, he lost the land for back taxes, and he also removed to Rowan Cty, NC. Additionally, on 10 May 1768, Nathaniel gave his daughter, RUTH MUNCEY, 70 acres in a love and affection deed that was apparently a wedding present for her marriage to DANIEL RASH, and they sold the land removing also to Rowan Cty, NC where thier land was on the boundry line adjacent to both Rowan and Wythe Counties. A third daughter SARAH MUNCEY married JESSE THOMAS (son of Patrick Thomas), and they moved to HYDE County, NC. They were Quakers. When NATHANIEL came to Rowan County, NC, he also brought his youngest son LUKE MUNCEY. He purchased land for LUKE in Montgomery Cty, VA. where LUKE married MARY BRITT, and they lived thier lives out there. I descend from this line of Munceys.

Kathy Welder Francis MUNCY and wife Abigail Skidmore of Murderkill Hundred had a son named Samuel born abt. 1712; he married his cousin Mary Skidmore and they moved by 1747 to Augusta Co. Virginia. The land was surved after 15 Oct 1741, at the request of his son Thomas. The 220 acres was called "Munsey's Mount".
