Pleasant was born in 1777 in Anson Co., North Carolina.1 Pleasant's father was Thomas Meadows and his mother was Keziah Moberly. His paternal grandparents were Jason Meadows and Elizabeth Stone. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Jason, William, John, Thomas, Isaiah, Edward Moberly, Middleton and Dorcas. He is the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
