John was born about 1806.1   John's father was Josiah Meadows and his mother was Judith Lilly.  His paternal grandfather was Josiah F. Meadows and his paternal grandmother is Lovinia. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Turner, Josiah, William Moody, Green Washington, Elizabeth, Docia, Naomi, Judith and Nancy.  He was the third youngest of the ten children.  He died on November 18th, 1883.1
